Gerrit received a special present yesterday at church: a bag full of Cougar jerseys!
A family from church has 2 boys who cleaned out their bedrooms and saved these jerseys for Gerrit. They know how much of a sports nut he is (and his parents) and thought they'd be perfect for him as they were too small for the boys and yet too good to throw out. They found a perfect home. Now if only they actually fit him!
He spent most of the day switching jerseys and playing hoops. I had to tuck the jersey in or else he'd trip (it fell to his ankle). My camera was on the fritz when I took these pictures, but you can see how much he loves the jerseys and how funny he looks in them. He has his choice of colors too: blue, white, grey...the practice jersey actually fits him the best (bottom right).
We are not sure if these jerseys were given to the family 'legally' so right now he can only wear them at home. I'm sure he will want to wear one to the next Cougar bball game; we are waiting to hear if he can wear them in public. If not, no big deal, he loves wearing them at home when he plays basketball.
Gerrit went to the game Friday night with Adam and Sunday at church he saw a Varsity player and said: hey, that's Cody! Adam was impressed how he remembered players and recognized them when they were not in uniform.

look at that form...vandenbosch (if Gerrit was a girl!)would be proud! :-)
that gave me a good laugh! he does have pretty good form - already he has one hand behind and one on the side when he shoots - and its his left hand he seems to shoot/dribble w/! :) adam was working on defense last night and i showed him a hook shot. i should get this on video to show you.
that is awesome! I'd love to see a video of him shooting or playing defense!
